That's why it's important to leave enough white space in your poster design. In the design world, “white space” (or “negative space”) refers to the space between design elements such as images, text, and borders. White space allows page elements to breathe and helps avoid a cluttered layout. Choose colors that have been proven to have great appeal, such as blue or green. Likewise, a modern sans serif font is a safe bet for communicating a business-themed message. Be sure to include event information and any attendee requirements in large, clear text. Use colors that are associated with the season: red and green for the winter holidays, orange and brown for fall, pastel shades for spring, bright yellows and blues for summer. Seasonal photos and icons will also add to the festive feel of your sign. If your poster is for an event your audience already knows about, you can skip the explanation and go straight to the main attraction.
