The Cowboys hired Gleeson, Princeton's offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach, for the same roles, the program announced Sunday afternoon. Gleeson will replace former offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich, who left the program after the Liberty Bowl to be Ohio State's quarterbacks coach and passing game coordinator. The hiring comes just hours after reports surfaced that the Cowboys were showing interest in giving North Texas offensive coordinator Graham Harrell the job. "We are excited to have Sean join our staff," OSU head coach Mike Gundy said in a release. "He comes with expertise in quarterback play. Both his offenses the last two years have dominated the Ivy League and have produced two different quarterbacks who were named Ivy League Offensive Player of the Year. "Gleeson was Princeton's offensive coordinator the past two seasons after four years as the Tigers' running backs coach. He also served as special teams coordinator in 2016. Princeton went undefeated in 2018, and led the Football Championship Subdivision in scoring offense by averaging 47 points in 10 games while ranking in the top 10 nationally in total offense, rushing offense, third-down conversion percentage and pass efficiency https://www.ltoutletstore.com/Landon_Ibieta_Jersey-193. Under Glesson's tutelage, Princeton quarterback John Lovett led the Ivy League by averaging 303 yards of total offense per game. Lovett threw 18 touchdown passes and only three interceptions https://www.ltoutletstore.com/Ralph_Walker_Jersey-145. "There's a ton of overlap between the system that I have been in and Oklahoma State's," Gleeson said. "As a coordinator, I believe in an offensive system that allows our players to be fast and physical. But, most of all, I think what will be noticed on Saturdays is how hungry we play the game. "Gleeson played quarterback at Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts, where he graduated in 2007. He began his coaching career later that year at New Jersey's Delbarton School, where he served as a coach for football, baseball and bowling until 2011. Gleeson then spent two seasons as offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach at Fairleigh Dickinson before joining Princeton.
